The AIU National Women Student Parliament is an initiative by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) that empowers women students to develop leadership skills, address gender-related issues, and promote women’s empowerment. Through discussions, debates, workshops, and interactions with prominent women leaders, participants can share ideas, build confidence, and become active change-makers. The authority have conducted 2 successful competitions of national women student parliament in 2023 and 24. Now women students who are studying in different colleges across the country can participate in the third AIU National Women Student Parliament which is going to schedule and 2025. The association of Indian universities have already accepted the application of the universities who wish to host the competition in their campus. Now the official schedule is expected to be announced soon.
3rd AIU National Women Student Parliament 2025
The third woman student Parliament is the part of 38th AIU UNIFESTS program in the session of 2024 and 25. Registration for the competition will start in March and April month of 2024. The women student Parliament will go for three days approximately where the first day will include registration, manager meet and the first round of the competition, the next day authority will conduct two session of the second round for all the eligible candidates. The third and fourth round of women student Parliament 2025 will be schedule on the third and last day and the program will end with the Valedictory Ceremony. 3rd AIU National Women Student Parliament 2025 Eligibility
You are suggested to check the following eligibility criteria as only qualified and eligible women students will be allowed to participate in the women student parliament:
- Only female students are eligible to participate in 3rd AIU National Women Student Parliament 2025.
- The age of the student should be less than 25 years old on 1st July 2025.
- The student should studying in a university or a college for at least 1 year full time UG or PG course or diploma certificate after 12th class.
- The student who is studying in the session of 2024 and 25 will only eligible to participate in competition
- Only one entry will be provided from each University in this competition
- A woman student from an open University can also apply for National women student Parliament 2025.
- The student should not engaged in full time job during the session of 2024 and 25 otherwise they will not eligible to participate in this activity.
- All the participants are required to pay 2500 rupees fees to the hosting University.

National women student Parliament rules
In this Student Parliament competition, each team is made up of three members, each with a specific role:
- Prime Minister: If the Prime Minister is from the Government team, they present arguments for the motion (the topic being debated), If the Prime Minister is from the Opposition team, they present arguments **against** the motion. Their job is to clearly state their team’s position and provide logical arguments.
- President: The President’s role is to build on the Prime Minister’s arguments and introduce new points to strengthen the team’s case. They aim to add depth to the debate by bringing in fresh perspectives.
- Whip: The Whip’s job is to counter the arguments made by the opposing team. They use logic and reasoning to challenge the opponents and defend their team’s stance.
How to Participate in 3rd AIU National Women Student Parliament 2025
- Round 1: Preliminary – In this round, each team discusses a bill with designated roles: the Prime Minister speaks for 2 minutes, the President for 3 minutes, and the Whip for 3 minutes. Teams are assigned to either the Government or Opposition by drawing lots.
- Round 2: Quarter Finals– From the preliminary round, 50 teams advance, with 25 teams each placed in the Government and Opposition through a draw. Each team is given 3 minutes to speak on a bill announced 24 hours prior to the debate. The top 10 teams from each side move on to the Semi-Finals.
- Round 3: Semi-Finals – In this round, teams compete in pairs, with each member speaking for 2 minutes. The round also includes a 3-minute Direct Interjection and a 15-minute Question & Answer session where teams can earn bonus points based on their participation. The top 2 teams with the highest points advance to the Final Round.
- Round 4: Final Round– The Final Round follows the same debate format as the Semi-Finals, with an additional Question & Answer session judged by a panel. The team with the highest score becomes the Overall Champion, while the runner-up team secures the First Runner Up position.
