Central Government employees are getting increment in their dearness allowance in the monthly salary twice in a year. Currently employees are getting 50% DA from January 2024 and now waiting to get the next increased DA payment. The increment in dearness allowance will be implemented according to the data of all India CPI index. So as per the hike in the rates of AICPI, Central Government will announce the new increment accordingly in the DA. As the inflation rates are increasing up to 3% in this table so it is expected from the authority to increase the DA from 50% to 53% for July session 2024.
7th Pay Commission DA Hike Latest Update Sep 2024
The government have not released any official notification about increasing the DA for July to December 2024, but according to the previous year data and the providence of 7th pay commission, government have to provide the increased DA from July month payment to the December month payment. The latest increment in dearness allowance was announced on 7th March 2024 however it was effective from 1st January 2024.
It should also note that, government increases the amount on the occasion of Holi festival. As raksha Bandhan festival has been completed and now employees can expect to get the new notification of increment in dearness allowance of 53% in September month on the occasion of Janmashtami. All India CPI index is prepared with the delay of one month.

For example if you want to get the data of July month CPI index then you need to wait for the last days of August. So the July AICPI , have not been released by the authority, so the government will increase the DA after releasing the list. However, the government will calculate the actual payment of the individuals from first July onward.
DA Arrears Latest Update 2024
Currently employees are getting 50% dearness allowance with their basic pay and other allowances in the net salary, but according to the 7th pay commission, they need to get the increased payment from July month salary. All the Government employees have received July and August salary with the 50% rates of dearness allowance, but they all are eligible to get the increased payment of 53% DA from July onward.
So once without authority increase the payment of DA for the employees, employees will receive the pending arrears payment of July and August month with their September month salary. For example, if an employee is getting 18000 basic salary and receiving 9000 rupees DA with 50% increment, and he will get 9540 with 53% agreement, then government will reduce their current salary with latest 53% DA and provide the rest amount as the arrear payment in the September month salary.

7th pay commission DA hike
7th pay commission is a guideline for all the employees in India to pay them their basic allowances and basic salary. The central government and many state governments are following provisions of 7th pay commission from 2016.
According to the 7th pay commission, the Government has to increase the dearness allowance of the employees two times in a year for January to June and July to December. The government is preparing an increment in da according to the data available in AICPI, and providing the payment accordingly.
