8th Pay Commission Date: इस दिन से होगा 8वां वेतन आयोग लागू, फिटमेंट फैक्टर से लेकर सैलरी में होगी इतनी बढ़ोतरी

8th Pay Commission Date: From January 1, 2026, it is expected that the central government will implement the recommendations of the next pay commission on revising salaries and pensions of the employees of the central government. Usually there is a gap of around 10 years between the two pay commissions, and the 7th pay commission time period is going to complete 10 years on December 31, 2025. As the 7th pay commission is coming to a close, the center is likely to establish the New pay commission very soon, which is going to provide recommendations for updating salaries, allowances, and pension benefits for the employees after the central government.

However, it is important to keep in mind that the central government has not officially announced the establishment of the 8th Pay Commission, and no specific implementation 8th Pay Commission Date has been set for this. Typically, it takes around 12 to 18 months for the commission to formulate recommendations. Once it gets established, during this process, the commission will consider various factors, including current economic conditions, the salary of employees, and the benefits.

Main expectations of the 8th pay commission

The Central Government employees have been urging the center to raise the fitment factors from 2.57 to 3.68. The fitment factor is a common multiplication number for calculating the salaries and functions of government employees. For example, 2.57 was the common fitment factor, which is used for the revision of the 6th Central Pay Commission pay to the 7th Pay Commission.

The sixth pay commission has suggested a fitment factor of 1.86, whereas the seventh pay commission has recommended a common fitment benefit of 2.57 for all the employees. On the basis of this fitment factor, the minimum basic pay for the employees of the Central Government was fixed at 18000 per month, up from Rs. 7,000. This is around 2.57 times more than the basic pay of the 6th pay commission. Even employees of the central government have been urging the government to raise the fitment factor from 2.57 to 3.68.

Salary Hike Update 2024

With the implementation of the 8th pay commission and taking into account the expected fitment factor of 3.68, the structure of the salary for the employees of the Central Government across the 18 pay matrix levels is expected to see significant increases. For example, at Matrix Level 1, the basic salary increased from Rs. 18000 under the seventh pay commission to Rs. 21600 under the eighth pay commission.

Benefits and allowance under the 8th pay commission

The 8th pay commission is expected to introduce some benefits and allowances, such as a house rent allowance along with a transport and dearness allowance. These allowances are going to be adjusted to reflect changes in inflation and evolving living costs once the 8th pay commission is implemented. However, for now, it is hard to predict anything regarding the increase in income following the 8th pay commission implementation.

8th Pay Commission Date 2024

The Indian government has yet to make any formal announcement regarding the formation of the 8th pay commission, despite rumors that it may be implemented in January 2026. The finance secretary clarified last year that the government still has no plans to set up the 8th Central Pay Commission.
