SASSA Grants Increase October 2024

Among 63 million citizens in South Africa, more than 19 million citizens are getting multiple benefits from social security Agency in South Africa. SASSA October Grants 

The social security Agency in the country increased rates of the payment twice in a year in April and October. The new increment in the payment is effective from first October 2024. SASSA grants increased by R10 for October 2024.

• The old age grant will increase from 2,180 rand to 2,190 rand for people under the age of 75, and to 2,210 rand from 2,200 rand for people over the age of 75.
• The disability grant will increase from R2,180 to R2,190.
• The child support grant and foster care grant will not increase. The care dependency grant will increase from R2,180 to R2,190.

SASSA New Payments Rates 

There are several types of SASSA grants, which are designed to provide financial assistance to eligible individuals in South Africa. Here are some of the main types of SASSA grants:

• Older Persons Grant: This grant is designed for individuals who are 60 years or older and are unable to support themselves financially. The grant amount is R2,180 per month for beneficiaries under 75 years old and R2,200 per month for beneficiaries 75 years and older.
• Disability Grant: This grant is designed for individuals who are between 18 and 59 years old and are unable to work due to physical or mental disabilities. The grant amount is R2,180 per month.
• War Veterans Grant: This grant is designed for individuals who are 60 years or older and have served in the Second World War or the Korean War. The grant amount is R2,200 per month.
• Child Support Grant: This grant is designed for primary caregivers of children who are 18 years or younger and are unable to support themselves financially. The grant amount is R530 per month.
• Foster Child Grant: This grant is designed for foster parents who are caring for children who are 18 years or younger. The grant amount is R1,180 per month.
• Care Dependency Grant: This grant is designed for primary caregivers of children who are 18 years or younger and have severe disabilities. The grant amount is R2,180 per month.
• Grant-in-Aid: This grant is designed for individuals who are receiving other social grants and require additional financial assistance. The grant amount is R530 per month.
• SRD R370 Grant: This grant is designed for individuals who are between 18 and 59 years old and are unable to support themselves financially. The grant amount is R370 per month.

SASSA Grants Payment Dates 2024-2025
