“Ayurveda Biology” will be offered as an extra subject for the UGC NET December 2024: The University Grants Commission (UGC) chose to include Ayurveda Biology as a new subject in the current list of UGC NET subjects beginning in December 2024 based on the expert committee’s recommendations. “Ayurveda Biology” has been added as a subject to the UGC National Eligibility Test. As we know that the National Eligibility Test (NET) is organised by the UGC through the National Testing Agency (NTA). The NET examination is conducted two times in a year. An emerging multidisciplinary field called “Ayurveda Biology” combines modern biological sciences with traditional Ayurvedic principles. Specialized programs in this field have been introduced by a number of Indian universities. Its curriculum covers a variety of subjects, such as sharira rachna, kriya padartha vijnana, dravya vijnana, philosophy, and the history and development of Ayurveda.
- The Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) relaunched an ayurvedic biology program that had been started by the government of India’s principal scientific advisor.

UGC NET December 2024
The official announcement for the UGC NET December 2024 session will be made soon by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The results of the June 2024 session were just released on October 17, 2024, and the notification for the previous December session was released on September 30, 2023. How to Choose the UGC NET Subjects?
When submitting their online applications, candidates must select the UGC NET subject that corresponds to their area of specialization in their post-graduation degree program. A candidate may select a related subject if their post-graduation topic is not listed in the UGC-recommended subject list. Candidates are advised to present in the subject of their PG only, states the official UGC NET notification.
