Bank Holiday News: Banks are closed in November in different states according to the festivals and other occasions. There are many states in India where banks will remain closed on 15th November 2024 due to Guru Nanak Jayanti. So if you have pending works which are scheduled to complete on 15th November the you should check list of the banks which will close on Guru Nanak birthday. 

Guru Nanak Jayanti which is also known as Guruparb is falling on 15th November 2024 on Friday. Government schools, colleges and departments will close on 15 November across the country. Apart from this banks will also remain closed in few States on 15th November due to Guru Nanak Jayanti, Karthika Purnima/Rahas Purnima. However banks will close on the holiday but customers can use online banking facilities using the Bank mobile application accordingly.

Reserve Bank of India has released list of the cities where banks will close on 15th November on the official website. Bank holidays in other days of November 

  • Apart from the 15th November there are other days too where banks will remain close due to the holiday. The first day of November was scheduled for holiday of Diwali, Kut/Kannada Rajyothsava/Govardhan Pooja. 
  • The second November was also schedule for the holiday of Diwali (Bali Pratipada)/Balipadyami/Laxmi Puja (Deepawali)/Govardhan Pooja/Vikram Samvant New Year Day.
  • Banks were closed on 6 November due to Chhath Puja occasion
  • The 8 November 2024 was also scheduled as bank holiday for last day of Chhath Puja and Wangala Festival in Different states
  • Banks in Dehradun and Shillong work lost on 12th November due to Egaas-Bagwaal/Nongkrem Dance holiday.
  • Apart from this, due to the Assembly elections in Jharkhand, banks were closed on 13th November throughout the state.
  • Approximately most of the states will not open banks on 15th November due to Guru Nanak Jayanti/Karthika Purnima/Rahas Purnima. 
  • Banks in Bengaluru will close on 18th November on the occasion of Kanakadasa Jayanti, however banks in other state will remain open accordingly.
  • 20 November is scheduled for general assembly elections in Maharashtra so Bank in the state will remain close on 20 November 2024.
  • 23 November is scheduled as holiday in Shillong for the occasion of Seng Kutsnem the banks will close in the state accordingly.

So it is important for all the citizens in the country to know about the bank holidays where banks will not provide their services to the customers physically. Due to online services and mobile banking, most of the customers are able to access banking activities on their smartphone. But if you are scheduling for a physical visit in bank then should check the bank holiday list which is available on the official website of Reserve Bank of India.
