3rd AIU National Moot Court Competition: D Y Patil Deemed to be Law University, Navi Mumbai is going to host the 3rd AIU National Moot Court Competition. Dr. Vijay D. Patil strongly believes that in a rapidly developing global economy, the best way to empower the youth of the country is to provide them with good educational facilities. He believes that the progress of future generations will be determined by the world we create for them and therefore the best way to empower the youth is to develop an ecosystem that provides them with opportunities to learn, grow, and excel. Dr. Vijay D. Patil has a special bond with the students, staff, and faculty of the group’s educational institutions.

The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) is a higher education advisory body mandated by the Ministry of Education. AIU is the only agency that can design and conduct Inter-University Youth Festivals (UNIFESTS) for students at regional, national, and international levels annually, involving a large number of young artists from its member universities and around 45,000 affiliated universities. These festivals play a vital role in promoting pride in Indian culture and a sense of their identity among the youth. 

Purpose of the 3rd AIU National Moot Court Competition

  • The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) has spread and expanded its wings and added another feature to its activities the conduct of the National Moot Court Competition.
  • This competition aims to provide an opportunity for law students to utilize their research and advocacy skills.
  • The moot proposals are based on fictitious disputes in areas of law that are either unclear or have been the subject of recent developments.
  • The competition aims to set the highest standards by providing an opportunity to debate before eminent scholars, lawyers, and judges.
  • This will promote healthy competition among educational institutions imparting legal education and strengthen social bonds among students.
  • DY Patil University’s goal has always been to enhance the employability of its graduates.

3rd AIU National Moot Court Competition Eligibility

Eligibility will be given only to genuine law students pursuing a 3 or 5-year LL.B course from an Indian institution. Students who have completed an LL.M. or diploma course are not eligible to participate. Only one team from each participating university can participate. A team must consist of three members. Two members will be called the “Speaker” and the third member will be called the “Researcher“.

Prizes for the 3rd AIU National Moot Court Competition Winners

1. The team that wins the final round of the competition will be awarded a trophy, a certificate, a medal, and a cash prize of Rs. 30,000

2. The team that gets the second position in the final round of the competition will be awarded a trophy, a certificate, a medal, and a cash prize of Rs. 20,000

3. The second-placed team who placed third in the semi-final round will be awarded a trophy, a certificate, a medal, and a cash prize of INR 10,000

4. The team with the highest average score of both written submissions will be awarded a trophy, a certificate, and a cash prize of INR 10,000

5. The best Speaker who obtains the highest marks in the Preliminary Round will be awarded a Trophy, a Certificate, and a cash prize of INR 5,000

6. The researcher who obtains the highest marks in the researcher Test will be awarded a Trophy, a Certificate, and a cash prize of INR 5,000
