With effect from November 6, 2024, all central government employees who are retiring must submit the new Single Pension Application Form 6-A online. According to a notification released by Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare, a division of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, paper submissions will no longer be accepted, and this form submission should be completed through the Bhavishya or e-HRMS 2.0 platforms.

To ensure that their pension cases are processed efficiently, retiring government employees must now submit their applications online. Employees will have access to the Form 6-A starting on November 6 since it has been incorporated into the e-HRMS 2.0 and Bhavishya systems. The purpose of these online resources is to streamline and simplify pension applications.

Combines of 9 forms and formats
On November 16, 2024, Form 6-A will take the place of Form 6 in use. This revised form compiles all necessary data into a single application. Instead of using the antiquated Common Nomination Form (Form A), retiring employees must use Form 6-A for nominations. Nine forms and formats are combined in the most recent form. Form 6, Form 8, Form 4, Form 3, A, Format 1, Format 9, FMA, and Zero Option Form are combined under the nine forms/formats. Rules 53, 57, 58, 59, and 60 of the CCS Pension Rules, 2021 have been modified to account for this modification.

Beginning on 06.11.2024, the most recent version of Form 6-A for retiring Central Government employees has been added to Bhavishya and e-HRMS 2.0.
- The new Single Pension Application Form 6-A must now is filled out by retiring Central Government employees only via the e-HRMS 2.0 or Bhavishya online platform.
- Before the retirement, government workers must update their family details on Form 6-A.
- Unless there is an exception, pension cases will be handled online using Bhavishya/e-HRMS.
- For superannuation cases, retiring officials who use e-HRMS must submit Form 6-A online and for non-superannuation cases, they must submit Form 6-A via Bhavishya.
- At least 6 months prior to their retirement date, employees must make sure that Form 6-A is filled out and turned in to the head of the office. Pension commutation may be delayed if this isn’t done.
- If a spouse or other family member submits Form 6-A, the employee must apply for pension commutation themselves.
