However those students who are studying in foreign universities or foreign university boards are required to get additional equivalence certificate from the association of Indian universities. Who need Equivalence Certificate From AIU?

- School level programs: student who are studying in foreign education boards in foreign country from class1 to 12 have to apply for equivalent certificate of their educational certificate. So if your qualification is equivalent to 12th class in India then you can apply under this category

- Post graduate diploma in management: candidates who have completed diploma in management for PG level abroad, have to apply two equivalence their certificate in this category.
- Equivalence of fellow program: candidates are required to complete at least 4 year in their fellow program in the country to apply for the equivalence certificate of their PHD or any other doctorate degree.
Eligibility for applying in AIU EC Online
- Candidates are required to complete their certificate/ degree, diploma or fellowship program in face to face mode or physical mode where they need to visit the institute regularly during the course period.
- Apart from this candidates who have completed their any certificate or diploma through online mode or distance mode are not eligible to equivalence their certificates in India.
- The duration of the course should be equivalent to the course running in India. For example if you are applying for school certificate then you should complete your at least 12 year of your age in schooling through regular mode.
- Many universities are running graduation and other degree courses which duration is shorter than Indian courses, so these certificates or degrees will also rejected by the association of Indian universities or they will not equivalence their certificate in India.
- For example if you are completing the normal graduation with less than the 8 semester then you will not get EC.
- However if you are applying for professional courses then you should also follow the Indian pattern of completing those courses, for example if you are doing MBBS or law then you are required to study for at least five years in MBBS or participate in law practice for a certain time period according to the Indian universities.
Documents Need to Get Equivalence Certificate From AIU

- Admission letter or offer letter from the concern University where you have completed your diploma or certificates
- The photocopy of your degree or certificate
- Proof of attendance

- Copy of the academic transcript
- If you are applying for 12 certificate then you need to provide the proof of completing 12 years of schooling according to the Indian education system

The application procedure is accepted by association of Indian universities through online as well as offline mode.
- Online application: online applications are accepted from the candidates who are applying for equivalence certificate for 12th class or graduation degree courses.
- Offline application: offline application form has to be submitted by the candidates who are applying for equivalent certificate for PG diploma in management and Fellowship programs.
How to Get Equivalence Certificate From AIU?
If you belongs to category 1 or applying for the equivalence certificate for your 12th certificate or graduation degree then you can follow the following procedure through online mode to apply for Equivalence Certificate Online:
- First of all visit to the official website of association of Indian Universities. https://www.aiu.ac.in/
- After that you have to click on the equivalence link on the website and click on the degree section
- Now you will read on the new page where you have to click on the application for equivalent certificate for degree and certificate courses under the important notification
- Now you are required to login on the AIU portal or if you are login for first time then you have to register firstly using your mobile number, email id date of birth and other details.
- Now upload your all documents and certificate in the sequence
- After that pay the application fees accordingly and your application form will be successfully submitted
AIU Equivalence Certificate offline
Candidates who want to apply for equivalence certificate for PG diploma in management or fellowship program of 5 year in India have to apply through offline mode where firstly they need to download the application form from the following link
After that you have to take a printout of the aiu Equivalence Certificate application form and fill all the information manually in your handwriting.
Attach all the supportive documents along with the AIU EC application form and send it to the following address through post at this address:

Along with the application form you also need to deposit the application fees of Rs 50000 rupees 18% additional GST through bank draft to the association of Indian universities.
After that, the concern committee will evaluate your degree and diploma and after that check all the necessary details. It will take a proximately 30 days to receive your equivalence certificate from the association of Indian University after getting approval.
