The company has introduced these all 6 new features on Friday 30 august 2024 during global fintech fest. It will include google pay UPI circle, E Rupi UPI vouchers, clickpay QR scan for bill payments, Tap and Pay with Rupay Cards, Autopay for UPI Lite and Prepaid utilities payment. The new “UPI Circle” feature on Google Pay allows users to add trusted family members or friends to their account, enabling them to make digital payments without needing their own bank account. This feature aims to help those who still rely on cash or are hesitant to use digital payments. With UPI Circle, users can choose between two options: “Partial Delegation”, which requires approval for each payment, or “Full Delegation”, which sets a limit of up to Rs 15,000 and allows the secondary user to make payments independently. This feature makes digital payments more accessible and convenient for more people.

E Rupi Voucher on Google Pay
Google has introduced UPI Vouchers, a new way to help people make digital payments without needing a bank account. Here’s how it works: someone buys a prepaid voucher linked to the recipient’s mobile number, and the recipient can use this voucher to make payments at any merchant that supports UPI, using any UPI app like Google Pay. This means they can shop online or pay bills digitally without needing a bank account linked to UPI. Google has partnered with NPCI and the Department of Financial Services to make this feature available to millions.
e-RUPI is a digital payment solution that allows users to make payments without needing a bank account, card, or digital payment app. e-RUPI vouchers can be purchased and redeemed using any UPI app, making it a convenient and inclusive way to promote digital transactions.

ClickPay feature for Bill Pay
Google Pay has introduced a new feature called ClickPay QR Scan, in partnership with NPCI Bharat Billpay. This feature makes it easy to pay bills by simply scanning a QR code with the Google Pay app. No need to remember account details or long consumer IDs! Billers can create custom QR codes for each bill, which can be displayed in-store, sent by email, or shared digitally. When you scan the QR code, the latest bill amount is automatically fetched, allowing you to pay instantly. This makes paying bills quick, easy, and hassle-free.
Tap and Pay for RuPay
Google Pay has partnered with NPCI to introduce the Tap & Pay feature for RuPay cards, making payments quick and easy for millions of users. With this feature, you can add your RuPay card to Google Pay and use your mobile phone to make payments by simply tapping it on a card machine. There’s no need to carry a physical card, and your 16-digit card number is not stored on Google Pay, ensuring your transactions are secure.

UPI Lite Autopay
The Autopay feature for UPI Lite makes small purchases and transfers hassle-free. When your UPI Lite account balance falls below a certain amount, Autopay automatically tops it up. This means you don’t have to worry about running out of funds in your Lite account, and you can continue making transactions smoothly. With Autopay, your UPI Lite account will always have enough balance to cover small transactions, making it a convenient and stress-free way to make payments.
Google Pay Prepaid Bills
Google Pay has made it easier to pay your utility bills like electricity, water, and gas. They’ve added a new feature called Prepaid Utilities Payment, which helps you find your utility providers, link your accounts, and pay bills seamlessly using UPI. This means you can now pay all your utility bills in one place, without having to visit different websites or apps. Plus, you’ll be able to track all your recurring payments in one checklist, making it easy to stay on top of your bills.
