One India-One Ticket Initiative: IRCTC और DMRC की सौगात, ट्रेन टिकट के साथ बुक होगा Metro का टोकन

One India-One Ticket: In a groundbreaking move, three prominent entities – Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC), Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), and Centre For Railway Information Systems (CRIS) – have joined forces to revolutionize the travel experience for passengers in the Delhi NCR region. This unprecedented collaboration aims to promote the government of India’s ambitious ‘One India-One Ticket’ initiative, which seeks to integrate various modes of transportation under a single umbrella.

The pioneering effort has led to the launch of the “Beta Version” of the Delhi Metro Rail QR Code-based ticket, enabling main-line Railway passengers to book DMRC QR Code Tickets on the IRCTC website and mobile app (Android version). This innovation allows passengers to book Delhi Metro tickets up to 120 days in advance, synchronizing with Indian Railways’ Advance Reservation Period (ARP). Previously, single-journey tickets for Delhi Metro could only be booked on the day of travel with same-day validity.

One India-One Ticket Initiative

The joint initiative promises to enhance the travel experience of Railway passengers by allowing them to book Delhi Metro Tickets alongside their rail tickets, either at the time of booking or later through the booking history page. Flexible cancellations have also been ensured, providing passengers with greater convenience and flexibility. Once a DMRC ticket is purchased, a unique DMRC QR code will be printed or made available in the Electronic Reservation Slip of IRCTC, streamlining the travel process.

This landmark collaboration will save valuable time for rail passengers at DMRC stations, avoiding long queues while purchasing DMRC tickets. The initiative promotes digitalization, environment-friendly, and efficient transportation systems, aligning with the government’s vision for a unified and seamless travel experience.

The IRCTC-DMRC QR Code Ticket integration is expected to be a game-changer for passengers traveling to and within the Delhi NCR region. With the regular version of the IRCTC-DMRC QR Code Ticket set to launch soon, passengers can look forward to a hassle-free travel experience, leveraging the strengths of both Railway and Metro networks.

Book a metro ticket before 120 days

Currently Delhi Metro is not providing any reservation for booking tickets for upcoming days so individuals who want to travel in Delhi Metro have to book the ticket on the same day and it also expires on the same day with a specific duration. However, IRCTC is providing the facility of booking tickets for Indian railways for a maximum of 120 days earlier.

So after a combination of IRCTC with DMRC, IRCTC will also provide the facility of booking Delhi metro tickets for upcoming days similar to the Indian railways ticket. For example, if you want to travel in the Delhi metro between two stations after 2 weeks, then you can now book your ticket by using the IRCTC app for a website that can advance your journey.

According to the authorities, the beta version has been successful and the authority will continue it in the full IRCTC version on the official website and mobile application soon where citizens can use the single mobile application to book Indian railways tickets and Delhi metro tickets.

Delhi metro QR tickets

DMRC has advanced the Delhi metro travel experience by launching Delhi metro QR tickets, now DMRC is not providing metro tokens and providing QR tickets only. You need to only scan the QR code at the checkpoint at the metro station and after that, you can enter or out of the metro station accordingly according to your journey details available in your QR code.

The QR code facility is available for multiple methods candidates can book the ticket from the official website of DMRC, and can also book a ticket by using Delhi metro WhatsApp ticket facilities where they need to only provide information on WhatsApp and the bot will automatically provide the QR code of ticket.

Apart from this Delhi metro tickets are also available at ticket counters at every station, where citizens can get printed QR tickets and scan them at the checkpoint accordingly. Now after joining hands with IRCTC, citizens can also use the IRCTC app to generate Delhi metro QR tickets accordingly in the future.
