PM Awas Yojana New Rules: अब मोटरसाइकिल, फ्रिज वाले भी ले सकेंगे पीएम आवास योजना का लाभ

PM Awas Yojana New Rules: The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), which was initially scheduled to expire this year, has been extended by the Union government for another five years. The extension includes updated several conditions, such as eligibility for bike and refrigerator owners, to increase the number of candidates eligible for the program.

These changes have been made to widen the base of beneficiaries and eradicate homelessness by 2029. The government has ordered to update the list of eligible, originally prepared in 2018. Public meetings will be held in each gram panchayat to transparently identify and select those in need of assistance.

Under the revised PMAY guidelines, village heads and panchayat secretaries will no longer have the power to allocate benefits based on personal preferences. The new guidelines aim to prevent nepotism and ensure that the housing program reaches the most deserving candidates. Further, to ensure transparency the selection process will be documented in a publicly accessible register. This register will serve as the basis for all enquiries into the eligibility of benefit recipients.
