PM Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme 2024: Recently, under PM Modi`s governance, the Ministry of social justice and empowerment has introduced a new scheme “PM YOUNG ACHIEVERS SCHOLARSHIP AWARD SCHEME FOR VIBRANT INDIA ( PM- YASASVI)”. It is a kind of an umbrella scheme which has been specially designed for the students belonging to OBC( other backward classes), EBC( Economically backward classes) and DNTs(Denotified tribes).
This initiative aims at the upbringing and quality higher education of the financially weaker students. This scheme is a combined version of earlier schemes like Dr Ambedkar post Matric Scholarship Scheme for Economically backward classes and Ambedkar Pre Matric + post matric scholarship scheme for DNTs. This kind of integration of schemes help in ensuring an impactful approach towards supporting the needs of socially and financially disadvantageous students.
Under this scheme, students will be provided pre matric scholarship for 9th and 10th class while post matric scholarship is also being offered to the students belonging to class 11 and other higher classes.
Eligibility Criteria For PM YASASVI scheme
- To become eligible for this scheme, the student must be an Indian civilian belonging to OBC, EBC and DNTs.
- The student must be studying in government schools.
- To avail the pre matric scheme, Student must have passed his/her class 8th with a minimum percentage of 60%.
- The same percentage is required to be in class 10th for becoming eligible to apply for post matric scholarship.
- The annual income of the parents of the student must not exceed 2.5 lakhs
- To apply for the 9th class, the candidate`s date of birth must be between 01-04-2004 to 31-03-2010
- To apply for the 11th class, the candidate`s date of birth must be between 01-04-2004 to 31-03-2008.

Benefits of PM Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme 2024
- Through this scheme, the students belonging to OBC, EBC AND DNTs shall be benefitted.
- The students who are currently studying in class 9th shall be given a total of 75000 rupees per year.
- Those students who are currently studying in class 11th shall be given a total of 1 lakh 25 thousand rupees per year to complete their higher education.
- This scheme aims to help the students to meet their study requirements like buying stationaries and paying their hostel & college fees.
Documents required to apply for PM YASASVI scheme
1. The candidate`s aadhar card
2. Passbook of the bank account of the candidate
3. Income Certificate of the parents
4. Caste Certificate of the candidate
5. Current Phone Number of the candidate or his/her parent
6. Passport sized photo of the candidate
7. Email id of the candidate
PM YASASVI Scheme Exam pattern
The candidates shall be given 100 Multiple choice questions to solve. Out of these 100 MCQs, 30 questions will be of mathematics, 25 questions of science and social science and the rest 20 questions will be of general knowledge. To solve these 100 questions, candidates will be given a span of 2.5 hrs. For detailed syllabus, candidates can visit the official NSP portal of the government (https://scholarships.gov.in/)
How to apply for PM YASASVI Scheme
To become eligible to apply for the scholarship under this scheme, one must meet all the criteria and once you meet all the criteria, you will have to pass the exam conducted by NTA. ( the examination form will also be available on NTA’s website.)
After passing the exam, you can apply for the scholarship so that you start getting your annual amount set by the government under the PM YASASVI scheme. let’s learn step by step about registering for this scholarship:-
- Go to the official NSP portal https://scholarships.gov.in/.
- Now select new registration Option.
- Enter your birth date details as it is mentioned in your aadhar card.
- Now specify your state of residence.
- Select the scholarship category in which you want to avail the scholarship such as post matric/pre matric from the provided options.
- Fill your name according to your aadhar card.
- Now provide your current mobile number on which you want to get the notifications.
- Provide your email id on which you want to get the further updates from NSP.
- Now you have to submit your bank account details including your IFSC code.
- In a section named “identification details” enter your aadhar card number
- Now click on submit to finalise your registration process.
- Once you get registered, you will receive your login details via email or SMS.
- Now you can login to your NSP portal using these details.
- At the final step, Upload all the required documents and before clicking the final submit button, go through your provided details once again to avoid any mistakes.
If you find any trouble in completing these steps then ask your elders or you can visit a good cyber cafe. Once you get done with the verification process, you will start receiving your scholarship money directly in your bank account.
