How much SASSA Disability Grant Hiked
According to the announcement of SASSA officials, approximately R 130 amount will be increased in the regular benefits of disability Grant of SASSA. Currently individuals are getting R2185 – R2190 Disability payments per month, which are provided according to the disability type of the applicant, but now the benefits limits for the applicants have been increased till R2310 – R2315. So, you will see R130 hike in a payment and maximize your benefits by getting a combined payment of SASSA for other programs too.
Eligibility criteria for SASSA Disability Grant 2025

- Only African citizens are eligible to apply in the South African social security Agency disability Grant program.
- Only youths are eligible to apply for the program where the age of the applicant should be between 18 years to 59 years to receive the benefit.
- If the applicant is facing a disability which is affecting regular life of the applicant and making a barrier to earn the revenue for last 1 year then you can apply for the program.
- If you ever short term disability and Required rest and medical treatment to overcome the disability then you need to showcase the medical reports which should confirm that the disability can affect the people for next 6 months.
- The authority is following one program one beneficiary method to release the SASSA grants, where if the applicant is already getting disability or any other type of grant from the state or Federal government then they cannot claim the payment.
- The payment is released to low income individuals who should not earn more than R97,320 in a year to be eligible for getting the benefits of the program. However if you are a couple applicant then can exceed the income limit with R194,640.
- The total Assets of the applicant should not be more than the value of R2,758,800. for the individual applicant and if you are combinedly apply with your spouse then the limits of the assets should not be more than the value of R1,379,400
Important documentation for SASSA Disability Grant 2025
The documentation is very important to claim the regular benefits of the program where You should prepare the following document for verification and upload it on the portal otherwise will not get the payment.
- Valid government ID card of South African government
- The proof of the resident of the applicant
- Bank account statement of the applicant
- The self declaration of the applicant to fill the value of total assets, property and other ownership items.
- Medical reports of the applicant which should be latest and should not be earlier than three months.
- Documents related to the family condition such as marriage or divorce certificate, certification of the legal children or legal dependent etc.
So, if you are registered with the program in the country then can check your bank account address after 3 and 4 April 2025 where the authority will release the April payment of 2025 in bank accounts for disabled in individuals. If your bank is not linked with SASSA, then it will check your address by mail so you can withdraw your amount accordingly. Apart from this you can also receive the payment physically from the SASSA points in person.
