UGC NET Dec Session Exam Eligibility Criteria

UGC NET Educational Qualification :-

• Candidates must be graduates of UGC-recognized universities or institutions with a master’s degree or its equivalent.
• Candidates having passed a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree program should have a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed.
• A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differentially-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other category
• Candidates who are in their last semester of a post-graduate degree are also eligible to apply.

• The qualifying examination has to be passed in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications and Electronic Science.
  Candidates should have scored 55% marks and 50% marks for reserved category students.
• Candidates, appearing in the final semester of the master’s degree can also apply.
• 5% relaxation is given to Ph.D degree holders in aggregate marks. Such candidates should have a Master’s degree exam which shall be completed by 19th September 1991.

UGC NET Age Limit :-

Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) – Not more than 30 years.

• Relaxation of 5 years is provided in the upper age limit for OBC-NCL, SC, ST and PwD categories.
• Three years of relaxation in age will be permitted to the candidates with an L.L.M. degree. A relaxation of upto 5 years is provided to the candidates who have served in the armed forces subject to the length of service in the armed forces up to the first day of the month in which the concerning UGC-NET is to be held.
• Total age relaxation on the above ground(s) shall not exceed five years under any circumstances.

There is no upper age limit in applying for UGC-NET for Assistant Professor.

• Visit the website- ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

• Click on the ‘UGC NET Dec Session Application form’ link mentioned at the bottom of the home page.
• Click on the ‘New Registration’.
• Enter the required details and complete the registration.
• Fill out the complete application form.
• upload scanned pictures of passport size photo (10-200kb) and signature (4-30kb). Both images should be in JPEG format.
• Pay the UGC NET application fee (Gen – INR 1150; OBC/EWS – INR 600; SC/ST/PwD/ Transgender – INR 325).
• Save and submit the form.

UGC NET Dec Session Exam Application fees is different for all categories. The application fee is not refundable or transferable once paid. It can be paid through credit/ debit card or e-Challan. UGC NET Dec Session Qualifying Marks

The Passing Criteria and Minimum Qualifying Marks for UGC NET Exam is given below.

• The candidates who will be shortlisted will be equal to 6% of those who take the exam for both papers I and II, based on the UGC NET Result.
• All of the available slots will be distributed among the different categories in accordance with the Government of India’s reservation policy.
• In order to qualify for UGC NET ‘JRF and Eligibility for Assistant Professor’ and ‘Assistant Professor’ (belonging to Non-Creamy Layer, PwD and Transgender), a candidate must obtain at least 40% aggregate marks in both the papers taken together for the General category and 35% aggregate marks for SC, ST, and OBC.

UGC NET Dec Session Merit List

According to the National Testing Agency (NTA), 6 % of the total candidates who appear for the UGC NET exam are shortlisted for the UGC NET Merit List . These candidates are eligible to join as Assistant Professor in various universities across the nation. Additionally, a separate UGC NET Merit List is prepared by NTA for candidates who qualified for UGC NET Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).

UGC NET Certificate

The UGC NET Certificate will be released on the UGC NET certificate portal and candidates can download their certificates using their application number and date of birth. The validity of the UGC NET certificate for Assistant Professors is valid for a lifetime. However, the UGC NET JRF award letter is only legitimate for four years from the date it is issued.

UGC NET Normalization Process & Score Calculation

As per the UGC NET exam does not take place on multiple days in two slots. Then how does NTA compute the UGC NET Normalized score? The difficulty level of all the NTA NET exams is different, in order to make the evaluation fair, a process called UGC NET score normalization is followed. It is done so that the students neither get additional benefits nor remain at disadvantage due to the different standards of the paper. The score is calculated with regard to the percentile score of the aspirants by changing the raw marks into the percentile score.

The formula used for calculating the UGC NET percentile score is as follows-

• UGC NET Percentile score = 100 of candidates appeared in the “session” with raw scores equal or less the candidates/total no. of candidates who appeared in the “session”.
